Youth Poetry Events
Co-produced events with
students in my Poetry Classes to get their word out. I would get them the
space and teach them how to do audience development and other administrative
activities, in order to establish a series of readings in the south Bay Area.
This includes Unity Poetry Slam, co-produced with Mexican Heritage Center
in February 2001.
McMuertos Opening Day of the Dead celebration
A group installation with
various Regeneration artists in which a satirized McDonalds was created inside
the Gallery space. I was in charge of producing the Performance aspect of
the installation. Actors served as McMuertos workers, and a performer staged
a mini-protest and sit-in of our work.
My Life as A Comic Stripper Performance Party, SF, CA
A project to celebrate the opening of artist Isis Rodriguez' exhibition exploring the issues of women in the sex industry through comic book style art. The show combined a curated art show, live bands, poets, and two DJs, with food and beverage in a huge downtown loft.

Y Que?! Press/kaOtic gOOd productions
Originally started to produce my own work and the work of writers not fitting into the traditional boundaries of presses of color, the press was used to help publish zines, poetry chapbooks, promotional materials, and to consult other young presses and organize performances. Highlighted readings occurred at Elbo Room, Modern Times Bookstore, and Justice League. Press has changed to kaotic good productions, now producing film too.
